About MSK Centrum
MSK Centrum was founded by Dr. Dennis Bartels and Esther based on a shared conviction regarding healthcare. Both have experienced how impactful long-term complaints can be and how difficult it can be to find appropriate care when issues keep recurring. This experience has permanently shaped their perspective on the body and on treatment.
Within MSK Centrum, this translates into a clear way of working. You will always be seen by the same treating physician, who assesses the spine and pelvis in conjunction. We do not work with fixed trajectories, but with a targeted analysis of what is happening in your specific case. It is precisely this focus and precision that allow many people to experience a clear difference after only a limited number of treatments.

How MSK Centrum originated
Dr. Dennis Bartels and Esther met during a period when they were both being treated according to the Sickesz Method. What appealed to them was not a promise of quick fixes, but the logic of the approach. It looked at the cause of complaints and the coherence within the body, rather than just the location where pain was felt.
That experience formed the starting point for MSK Centrum. Since 2014, the Sickesz Method has been the foundation of the center and the way complaints are viewed and addressed here. In the following years, this method has been further deepened, with a clear focus on targeted analysis and careful treatment. From Delden, Amstelveen, and Utrecht, we work with the same approach and attention, with the goal not to keep managing complaints, but to understand where they arise and to restore them in a targeted manner.
MSK medicine has, so to speak, changed both my daily and athletic life. I was a chronic back patient and had already undergone extensive physiotherapy and manual therapy, but the complaints were never fully resolved. In just a few sessions at MSK, that was rectified! I could hardly believe it. I have also taken up judo again, and with all that falling, things can occasionally shift out of place. With an appointment about once or twice a year, the doctor realigns my back, neck, and hips, and I am ready to go again. I am now 63 years old and have been practicing judo again since I was 57. While judo might be somewhat extreme, what matters most is that I am no longer limited by pain during movement in my daily life.
A very skilled and caring physician! She helped me tremendously with my hip problem. This method has cured me of migraines and stomach issues. Highly recommended.
Very satisfied; my appointment requests receive prompt responses. Every effort is made to schedule them as soon as possible.
No more treatments offered than necessary and effective
I visited MSK Centrum due to long-term neck and shoulder complaints. During the initial consultation, extensive time was taken to map out my symptoms. The explanation regarding the cause of my complaints was clear and understandable. After a few treatments, I noticed a distinct improvement in my range of motion and the pain decreased. The practice feels professional and calm, and I felt that my concerns were taken seriously. I would certainly recommend MSK Centrum to people with similar complaints.
The people behind MSK Centrum
Dennis – physician with room for the individual
Dr. Dennis Bartels worked at a back clinic for many years. During that time, he saw healthcare change. Waiting lists grew longer and longer. Where people were previously helped within a few weeks, they later sometimes had to wait for months. This included people with severe pain or acute complaints.
That did not feel right. Precisely because he knew his patients, he often knew who needed to be seen quickly. That space became increasingly limited.
At MSK Centrum, he is able to offer that space. You can see this reflected in the way of working: flexible scheduling, availability in the evenings and sometimes on weekends, and always an eye for the situation of the person sitting before him. No standard time slots, but attention where needed.
Dennis is a BIG-registered physician.
BIG number: 19049009001
BIG registration means that he meets the legal requirements for medical care provision in the Netherlands.
Esther – movement, guidance, and strengthening
Esther has been working as a sports instructor for over thirty years and guides people in fitness and in her own practice. She creates tailor-made training schedules and guides people with various goals, such as building strength, recovery after an injury, flexibility, back training, and responsible movement.
In addition, Esther is a certified orthomolecular nutritionist. This combination allows her not only to guide people in movement but also to provide input on lifestyle and nutrition as supporting factors in recovery.
Within MSK Centrum, her expertise forms a valuable addition to the treatment.
