Our approach
Back complaints
Back complaints that keep recurring or gradually increase. Pain in the lower or middle back, stiffness upon waking, or symptoms that worsen with prolonged sitting or standing.
Often, there is a long-term change in the alignment of the spine or pelvis, causing the back to be loaded structurally differently.
Neck complaints
Neck complaints often manifest as stiffness, pain when turning, or a heavy feeling in the head and shoulders. These symptoms are frequently accompanied by headaches, dizziness, or radiating pain to the arms.
In many cases, the neck must compensate over a long period for a disruption elsewhere in the spine.
Shoulder complaints
Shoulder complaints often cause pain during movement, lifting, or overhead work. Sometimes there is stiffness, and sometimes persistent pain at rest.
The shoulder frequently reacts to an altered load originating from the neck or upper back, which can cause symptoms to persist.
Joint complaints
Joint complaints can cause pain when walking, sitting, or standing up. A feeling of misalignment or radiating pain to the buttock or groin also occurs regularly.
A relatively small change in the alignment of the pelvis can influence the load on the entire body.
Migraine
Headache complaints range from a feeling of pressure to recurring or long-term pain. Sometimes the headache originates from the neck or worsens with movement.
This is often related to limited mobility or tension in the upper vertebrae of the neck.
Tingling in hands and fingers
Tingling is often experienced as a prickling or numb sensation in the arms, hands, legs, or feet. The symptoms may be intermittently present or gradually increase.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
At MSK Centrum, the Sickesz Method is primarily applied to complaints that keep recurring or have been present for a long time. We see a lot of back pain, neck pain, and headaches, but also shoulder, hip, and pelvic complaints. Often, these are symptoms that have built up over time and have become increasingly persistent.
What these complaints have in common is that the cause is not always located where the pain is felt. When the balance in the spine or pelvis is disrupted, it can manifest in various ways throughout the body. One time as lower back pain, another time as neck complaints, headaches, or a nagging pain in the hip or shoulder.
Regularly, these involve symptoms that shift, radiate, or are difficult to explain. Precisely with these types of complaints, restoring the underlying balance often proves to be an important turning point.
Often, a few treatments are sufficient to notice a clear difference. Some people are surprised by this themselves, precisely because they have been living with complaints for so long and did not expect such a rapid change to be possible.

Treatment according to the Sickesz Method
At MSK Centrum, we look at the alignment of the spine and the pelvis to understand where complaints originate. Many symptoms that manifest as pain, stiffness, or restricted movement do not arise at the location where the pain is felt. They are often the result of a change in the way the body is loaded.
When the alignment of the spine or pelvis deviates, the body adapts to this. This often happens unnoticed and can go well for a long time. Only when this compensation can no longer be sustained do complaints arise that keep recurring or slowly increase.
Treatment at MSK Centrum is carried out according to orthomanual medicine (Sickesz Method) and is controlled and subtle. There is no hard cracking or forcing. Since 2014, this method has formed the basis of our work, precisely because it is based on the mechanics of the body rather than just the symptoms. This approach is well-suited for people with long-standing complaints for whom previous treatments had insufficient or only temporary effects.

Not symptom relief, but restoration of balance
Many forms of treatment focus on what hurts. The Sickesz Method focuses on why it hurts. That difference may seem small, but in practice, it is fundamental.
Long-term complaints often do not arise from a single wrong movement, overload, or ‘bad luck’, but from a gradual change in the alignment of joints, particularly in the pelvis and the spine. The body constantly adapts here, sometimes for years, by loading muscles and joints differently.
As long as that compensation works, complaints often remain present or fluctuate. When the body can no longer sustain that adaptation, pain, stiffness, or movement restrictions arise. Because this process develops slowly, the underlying cause often remains unnoticed for a long time. This is precisely why complaints keep recurring or shift over time. The Sickesz Method starts from this insight and therefore looks first at the foundation: how the body is positioned and how it is loaded.
MSK medicine has, so to speak, changed both my daily and athletic life. I was a chronic back patient and had already undergone extensive physiotherapy and manual therapy, but the complaints were never fully resolved. In just a few sessions at MSK, that was rectified! I could hardly believe it. I have also taken up judo again, and with all that falling, things can occasionally shift out of place. With an appointment about once or twice a year, the doctor realigns my back, neck, and hips, and I am ready to go again. I am now 63 years old and have been practicing judo again since I was 57. While judo might be somewhat extreme, what matters most is that I am no longer limited by pain during movement in my daily life.
A very skilled and caring physician! She helped me tremendously with my hip problem. This method has cured me of migraines and stomach issues. Highly recommended.
Very satisfied; my appointment requests receive prompt responses. Every effort is made to schedule them as soon as possible.
No more treatments offered than necessary and effective
I visited MSK Centrum due to long-term neck and shoulder complaints. During the initial consultation, extensive time was taken to map out my symptoms. The explanation regarding the cause of my complaints was clear and understandable. After a few treatments, I noticed a distinct improvement in my range of motion and the pain decreased. The practice feels professional and calm, and I felt that my concerns were taken seriously. I would certainly recommend MSK Centrum to people with similar complaints.
